Shattered Destiny : HNS New Playable Update

See video

What's New This Update:

Combat:

F (base attack)
H (heavy attack)
K (kick)

All work as normal but the re-use timers have been significantly reduced. This is also true of enemy attacks and abilities as well so combat is a lot faster.

Shields and Armor:

You begin play with a full suit of basic armor. This consists of Leg armor, Arm armor, Shoulder Pieces, as well as the base chest and loin coverings.

In the Starter Chests, you can also find and use Shields.

Both your armor and shield will protect you in battle, reducing the amount of damage you take. Soaking up that damage causes wear on your armor and shield as well.

Eventually your Shield will SHATTER!
Eventually your Armor will wear down and disappear! First the shoulders/hip armor etc, then even the basics!

Visiting the Librams of Healing scattered about will restore not only your Health, but will also mitigate Armor damage!!! So if you find your self running naked and bleeding from the enemy -- GET TO A LIBRAM !

I have also redone the shader on the enemy names so they will be properly hidden when behind other objects.

Music:

You need to be within range

You need to be within range roughly 10 feet, then hit TAB to select your opponent. After that, your attacks are all active.

i'll try that out. Though, in a real game, I wouldn't like the need to press tab and then start to fight. Being within range should let me start fighting.

Maybe, but its designed that

Maybe, but its designed that way so you can select your targets with some discretion, though I do plan on adding an auto-acquire target so when you get too close and something attacks you, it instantly activates as a target.

Basically, the targeting is identical to the Hack n Slash official targeting w/one caveat. Instead of endlessly cycling through targets, I have it set so you can select and deselect a target using Tab.

The monsters are conversions

The monsters are conversions from http://www.TheGameCreators.com asset packs. They offers some great game engine friendly models and the asset packs average $20 (less when you grab a bundle).

Here's the specific pack you liked:

http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2049

They are in .X format, w/DDS textures. You can effortlessly convert them to .FBX files for use within Unity - I use Ultimate Unwrap 3D from here : http://www.unwrap3d.com/u3d/index.aspx If you bring them into Unity, just split out your animations and you're pretty much good to go :)
