Rigged Characters from C4D to Unity 3D

Can anyone please create a step by step set of instructions or a video tutorial for getting a Joint rigged character from Cinema 4D into Unity 3d? I'm aware of this tutorial set http://www.burgzergarcade.com/taking-rigged-animated-character-c4d-unity... but he converts the rig to bones which means no more IK. I've been told on several forums that joints work between C4D R11.5 an Unity 2.6 and higher. Can anyone please show me how?

There are several people looking for this.
Thank you,
Terry

R11.5 should work

I've heard it works with C4D R11.5. But I'm still on R11 and I'm not a character animator. They guy I use for CA work is also still on R11. The upgrade price to R11.5 would be worth the money if someone could prove that it's now working with Joints and IK.

Thanks for the workaround tips. But we're hoping to develop a workflow that's centered on C4D and Unity 3D.

Cheers,
Terry

You could try to work around

You could try to work around it or exporting the animation to different program. Iam not experienced with C4D, but it sounds like it has two different animation systems like 3dmax. One pre-setup with IK and another custom rigg without IK.

Check into possible plug-ins or scrip converters?
Dive into lots of tutorials on how use custom rigg without IK?
Try out tutorial of the animated character on the unity site. You could have a backup scene in C4D where you do your animation. Save it with a different filename. Convert the bones and import it to unity with a end string in the file name for each animation.
"Animated character@walk"
"Animated character@idle"

Hope it helps
